Social Emotional Learning  SEL:

     Social Emotional Learning is the process through which children and adults acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills to:

      * Recognize and manage their emotions

      * Set and achieve positive goals

      * Demonstrate caring and concern for others

      * Establish and maintain positive relationships

      * Make responsible decisions

      * Handle interpersonal situations effectively

     Things we can do at home to promote social emotional learning SEL with our children:

                            Focus on STRENGTHS. When you child brings home a test, talk first about what he or she did well. Then talk about what can be improved. Praise specific strengths. Don't criticize things done wrong.
